There are other neighborhoods where you can get a great downtown feel for much less money. On the north side of Downtown, like York Street and all the side streets off of it. Henry Street, Thomas Street,  and many other surrounding areas. These neighborhoods are definitely experiencing new gentrification. Interesting detached houses, lots of character beautifully tree lined streets, and still a short walk to the market, public transit, pilgrim’s butcher shop, Montebello Park, and all the other Downtown amenities.   What’s interesting here is the upside potential. A developer recently purchased the nearby General Motors sites,  56 acres of land with an innovative proposal for revitalization and mixed use developments. When that comes to fruition, I think it will definitely have a tremendous positive impact on all of  the surrounding neighborhoods!
